i woke up and

wrote this poem:

i woke up and

gazed into the ocean

to see the horizon of possibilities

at the edge of the world

tingling with mystery

and spaces we will never see

anointed with peace just by seeing

inhaling

tasting

the diamond sea

and your diamond mind

i woke up and

left the city

to meet the joshua trees

where the sky opened to stars

and my heart melted

with a knowing in my toes

sinking into the blazing dust

while under midnight sprinklers

i spoke my truth

into the hot wind

against your lips

i woke up and

wandered into the open space

in our glowing valley

of golden meadows

and granite mountains

stretching into the sun

where i created my calm

of home

of freedom

of you
